Poinsettia Frame Tutorial



This tutorial was made with Paint Shop Pro 7. You can download a free 30-day evaluation copy of PSP7 HERE.



For this tutorial, you will need Jasc Holiday Tube set. You can get the download free HERE

1. Open a new image 250x300, transparent background. Selections/Select All. Flood fill with white color. Selections/Modify/Contract by 20. Selections/Invert. Effects/Texture Effects/Sculpture. Use these settings with a wood pattern. I used pine, but you can use any that you have.



2. It should look like this:



3. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel. Use these settings, and save them for future use.



4. It should look like this:



5. Selection Invert. Flood fill with red. Selection contract by 3. Flood fill with blue. Selection contract by 20. Flood fill green. Selections contract by 3. Hit delete on your keyboard.



6. With your wand select the blue rectangle. Now click on your tube tool. Choose the Jasc poinsettia tube from Jasc Holiday Tube Pack free on the Jasc website. Or,you can use a different tube of your choice.



7. Apply the selected blue rectangle with the poinsettia tube until it is completely filled and looks like this:



8. Effects/Artistic Effects/Brushstrokes with these settings:



9. It should look like this:



10. Now use your wand to click on the outside thin red rectangle. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with these settings:



11. Now click on the inside thin green rectangle. Apply the same inner bevel as before. Control+D to deselect. Your image should look like this.



12. Save as a .pfr image in your frames folder. My folder is at C:\program files\psp7\frames. Now when you want to use it, open any photo image, then Image/Picture Frame, and choose which frame to apply.
