Pumpkin Ridge Creations
For this tutorial, you will need:
Paint Shop Pro7...get a free 30-day copy here
These two fill patterns. Right-click save them to your hard drive.
Here is a white daisy fill pattern, if you prefer. Mine is made with this one.
Okay, let's get started!
1. Open a new image 300x300 with transparent background. Turn on your forground color (background color turned off). Choose color red #973246.
2.On the top toolbar, click on Selections/Select All. Click on your paintcan on your left toolbar and then click on the selection to fill with the red color. Selections/Modify/Contract on the top toolbar. Contract by 20.
Change the forground color to pink #A3247D. Flood fill selection.
Selections/Modify/Contract selection by 2.
Change the forground color to yellow #C5C320. Flood fill selection.
Selections/Modify/Contract selection by 10.
Change the forground color to blue #1F5c88. Flood fill selection.
Selections/Modify/Contract selection by 5.
3. Hit the 'delete' key on your keyboard. Your image should look like this: *note, the pink line is so thin, you cannot see it in this screenshot*
4.With your magic wand from the left toolbar with the magic wand tolerance=0, click on the red color in the image to select it.
Under your color palette at the right of your screen, change the forgorund style to 'pattern'. To do this, click-hold on the forground styles button until your choices apprear. choose the pattern (see below).
Now click again on the forground styles button. Click 'ok' at the popup window. Choose the pattern titled fill1. Use your paintcan to fill the red color with the daisy pattern.
On the top toolbar, apply a bevel by clicking Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel. Choose these settings:
width=7, smoothness=8, depth=3, ambience=0,
shininess=0, angle=315, intensity=50, elevation=30. Save the setting as prc-frame1 for your future use.
Here is a corner of what your image should look like now.
5.Use your magic wand to select the pink color (it is very thin so you may have to zoom in to see it). On the top toolbar, apply a bevel by clicking Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel. Choose these settings:
width=3, smoothness=10, depth=9, ambience=0,
shininess=67, angle=315, intensity=20, elevation=40. Save the setting as 'prc-low metal' for your future use.
6. With your magic wand, tolerance=0, click on the yellow color. Change your forground styles pattern to fill2. Use your paintcan to fill the yellow color with pattern fill2.
With your magic wand, tolerance=0, click on the blue color. On the top toolbar, go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel. Use the same settings as before (prc-low metal). Cntrl+d on your keyboard to deselect.
Your image should look like this:
Here is a corner of what your image should look like:
To save your frame as a reusable frame in your frame folder, save it in your frame folder.
My frame folder is at C:\Program Files\Jasc Software\Paint Shop Pro 7\Frames. Save it as:
filename: yellowdaisyframe.pfr
filetype: Paint Shop Pro Image

Pretty easy, wasn't it!?
To use the frame, open any photo or image. On your top toolbar, click on Image/Picture Frame. Follow the directions of the popup window.
